ABOUT



Lonestar is an artist-run venue and gallery space located in the heart of Los Angeles’ Arts District. Founded by multimedia artist and curator Alex Carmen, and built by designer and craftsman Brant Ritter, Lonestar was built as a platform for artists to take creative risks, explore new ideas, and present work with sincerity and care. The space blends a curatorial mindset with a come-as-you-are ethos—welcoming experimentation, collaboration, and process-driven work.

More than just a venue, Lonestar is a gathering point — shaped by intention and rooted in community. From exhibitions and concerts to photo shoots, residencies, and release events, the space supports a range of programming that reflects the diverse voices of LA’s creative landscape.

Capacity:

Lonestar offers 1,100 sq ft of open, versatile space — accommodating up to 150 guests in a standing-room configuration. Whether you’re planning an intimate showcase or a party with a packed house, the space can flex to suit your needs. Click here for a detailed floor plan to explore venue dimensions.

Additional Amenities:

The gallery can be outfitted with furniture, audio systems, camera gear, tables, and bartending service—all available as add-ons. Additional spaces including a full kitchen, green room, conference area, and private bath with shower are also available upon request and must be arranged separately. With ground-floor access, a spacious rolling garage entrance, and two nearby parking lots, load-in is simple and efficient.

From fine art exhibitions and editorial shoots to concerts, film productions, release parties, and pop-ups— Lonestar is designed to support creative work in all its forms. We’re proud to host a wide range of community-led programming; we welcome projects across disciplines and formats.
